Shoreline Access Collection

In Rhode Island, the wrack line is the ribbon of seaweed, shell, and driftwood the tide leaves behind. It is also the legal boundary. In 2023 the state set public shoreline access at ten feet landward of that line, ending decades of argument about where a beach walk becomes trespassing.

This collection exists because that access is worth defending. Every piece here is designed for people who actually walk the shore: Narragansett Bay at low tide, the East Bay Bike Path, Bristol Harbor on a grey October morning.
